carpool lane violation in CA
Hello, I got a carpool lane violation today for driving in the carpool lane around 4:30  I thought this was a non moving violation (just a fine) but apparently its a moving violation. (He scheduled a court date for me). The CHP officer suggested that I call in once I receive the information in the mail and plead guilty, asking for driving school.
I'm pretty sure I cant get it dismissed, but should I take my chances in court or do a trial by written declaration to possibly decrease the fine? Also, if I do appear in court or write a statement, I can't say "I'm not guilty" because I was clearly pulled over in the carpool lane. What shouild I say? I guess doing a trial by written declaration/going to court is only good if the CHP officer does not show up or does not write a counterstatement.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also, concerning the law about only being able to go to driving school every eighteen months, is this eighteen months from the date of the citation? Or eighteen months from when I attended traffic school?
