A few years ago I received a speeding ticket (I think from a Sheriff) in Simi Valley, and I was also citated for illegal tint. The tint was non-correctable - I had to pay a fine and remove it, but no proof of removal was necessary. So I paid the fine and left it, and went to traffic school for the speeding ciolation.
A few months ago I was pulled over by a motorcycle police officer for illegal tint in Los Angeles. It is correctable (I don't know if there is a major fine).
My question is, why did I have different outcomes for the tint? Does it depend on the county? Or which agency administers the ticket (Sheriff vs. Police)?
Qeustion #2: I would rather pay the fine than "fix-it," but it does not appear to be an option. Is there a way to just pay the fine (i.e., plea guilty) without having to fix it? Would that result in any points or problems on my driving record?
Thanks for your time
