What constitues a street race?
I think the laws are very vague and designed so that just about anything can be considered a street race depending on the officers feeling or mood at the moment.
What if you are "speeding" on the e-way , lets say you are goin 75mph, them a car passes you up at 85, at the time he is passing you , a cop sees this, he could probably claim you were street racing or enguaging in a contest of speed.
I do not believe these laws to be to clear, and very vague and honestly , if you had a good lawyer, how could they stand up in court, assuming the above mentioned senario happened?
I think the way it is written gives the police too much leeway into what they can do or interpret as a street race, and is probably written that way assuming most racers are young kids and wouldnt fight it in court, jusy my humble opinion. |
