I've been sniffing around online, but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for. I want either a photocell or infrared device to trigger a "cable release" so I can set up my old D-Rebel on a tripod at the finish line of a dragstrip and have it shoot finish line photos automatically. I've found a company that sells an electronic module for DIY trail cameras (like hunters use to scout out locations) that does pretty much everything I want, but it's a bare circuit board - I'd have to build a housing and a cable to interface with the remote release on my camera.

Anybody ever seen such a thing? If not, is anybody interested in having one, too, so I can help cover the costs of building one myself?
