Slow Motion Action Shots
Im still trying to refine my home made rig, but here is a shot of my Camaro taken in my driveway. I set the camera to 50iso, with an ND #4 filter on f-22. That gave me a shutterspeed of about 1-2 seconds. The car was just barley moving. Combined with the long shutter opening it looks like the car is hauling ass. However Im still trying to build a solid rig/platform. Anyone else build a rig to hold their cameras?

Passenger? Holding the Camera? Naw. The rig mounts to the underside of the vehicle or bumper or where ever and depending on the angle, you may have to photshop the metalarm out of the photos.

Yeah, but everyone shoots their shots at dusk. I wanted to try mid day action shots. I need to use an ND #8 filter rather than the #4. That would most likely give me a 3-4 second shutterspeed.

I read an article in Popular Photography or something like that about how to make your own $20 rig. I'll be making one this winter (slightly higher budget... not duct-taping the rig on, but using proper mounting brackets and it's made of angle iron welded together rather than wood and plastic with glue). Estd. cost $45 (assuming you own a welder and know how to use it). Also will include grinding and other stuff, but will be a solid rig at a low price.
