Hey guys,
So many people drink and drive nowdays without thinking twice, and often nobody says much about it until someone dies or gets a DUI, the latter of which happened to me and so I want to remind anyone who cares to listen what can happen if you chose to drink and drive. In January I got a DUI and was above .20 BAC (much higher than I would have thought) We all know a person or two (or more) who have gotten a DUI, and it really can happen to anyone who drinks and drives no matter how close you are to your destination or safely you think you are driving. (Remember, as street racers especially, we know how easy it is to get pulled over even when driving flawlessly)
Here's a list of what happen to me after my DUI, pretty abreviated...

1 Night in Jail
6 month DUI class (costing $633)
$1,575 fine
$800 for lawyer
6 month license revoke (more than that)
5 days of community service
Years of DUI on my record. (After a few years I had finally regained an unblemished driving record since my streetracing days.)

It's cheap to get a taxi, a ride, or spend a night, or if you have to just not drink. Even now 6 months later I still can only drive to work and DUI class, still am going to be paying the fine etc. And remember, even if someone crashes into you or someone else would usually be at fault, you are considered guilty if you are intoxicated and it takes very little to be above .08 BAC. Don't drink and drive guys, it's not worth it.

To be optimistic, I timed my DUI right with gas prices, and for selling my stang for whatever I chose next without worrying about needing a vehicle.
