Well, my stepbrother Dean, finally made it down from Gainesville to visit the family
and run his bike at a race. He spent today doing qualifying runs for the Nopi event
at Bradenton. It's been a marathon of a day though. He spent Friday putting his
turbocharger back together and re-installing it after a backfire damaged it last week.
Then he calls me from the track this morning and the battery he has won't hold a charge.
So I called around town, and finally found a battery for him and picked it up. But since it
was brand new, we had to wait and hour for the shop to drop the acid in and put a charge
to it. So, after an hour I go back to the shop "Barry Motorsports", pick up the battery and
drive the 65 miles to the track. By the time I get there he's already missed the first open
session. He installs the battery and the bike fires right up. When he's putting
the seat back on, he noticed that his 1 pound nitrous tank, which supplies the pressure for
his air shifter and wastegate control...is empty. So we had to go begging around the pits
for someone to give us a small charge. We lucked out, when a fellow competitor charged
the bottle.
Here's the results of the first pass off the trailer....sorry, I didn't have any pennies to put
on the tank, so I used a dollar bill. *sorry for the giant pic, but I wanted to make sure you
guys could read the slip*
Check out my gallery for more pictures of the bike.

Here is some information on the bike that I got from my stepbrother.
Bike is a 1999 Kawasaki ZRX1100 (basically a retro styled racer with a detuned ZX1100 engine)
Engine size - 1080cc
Compression - 8.7 : 1
1mm oversized valves, with some port work
Blow through carb, non-intercooled!, T3/T4 setup (small housing) I didn't ask the trim, sorry.
1st pass today was at 24lbs of boost maximum, which should net around 300hp
Wastegate is set at 4lbs, but the backside is pressurized in stages allowing him to leave the line at 11lbs of boost, then it steps up in stages of 22lbs, then 24lbs (or whatever max is set).
Highest dyno reading to date was 340hp at 30lbs of boost.
Best pass tonight, was a new personal best for him at 8.582@169.39 This was made after
dark, at 28lbs of boost, and after taking some initial spring out of the clutch.
I have video of the runs, but it's on my DVD-R camcorder, so I have no idea
how you get that shit on the web.
