2 SRT4's and an S2000

So there was a guy with a stock s2000 asking to race a stock SRT4, and me and another guy answered the call. We all met up in a parking lot around midnight and went to our spot to run, a little traveled highway near the Navy base here. I have a stock 05 with a sunroof and I had a passenger, the other SRT4 was a stock 05 with no sunroof and the driver was alone. The S2000 said he had Spoon air extentions or something.

So we go up to the end of the highway, turn around and run from a stop three wide. The S2000 was in the middle so he honked. He didnt honk loud enough one of the times, so he got the jump on both of us. I had a shitty launch and wheel-hopped through first gear, i went to slam second and POP. The damned shift knob came off in my hand. Needless to say I got left behind by 6-7 cars and got spanked that race. From what they said, the other SRT4 pulled even with the S2000 at 105mph, and then they both let off.

Second run the other neon honked and I had a good launch. No wheelspin at all, and it didnt really bog down. I pulld maybe half a car on the other SRT4 and we both pulled on the S2000. Me and the other 05 were side by side until we hit 4th and he pulled a car on me to from 90-120ish. The s2000 was a couple cars behind us, he said he missed second gear.

They ran again from a roll after that, and from a 50mph punch the s2000 pulled. 50mph is a bad spot to go from a roll in an SRT4, its at the very top of second, but too low in 3rd.

All in all it was a fun run. Definitely a drivers race, any mistake by any one of us would have lost the race. The only reason I can give for the other SRT4 pulling on me up top is the extra 200lbs of weight I had over him.
