Well, I finally saved up some cashola to get some more work done on the Honduh. I sent it to a reputable shop in Clearwater to get a z6 head put on and an Ex/Si transmission installed with and OBX LSD. Go the car back after a couple of weeks (there was other misc. crap he was doing too) on a Friday night, drove it home and it felt pretty good. I parked it until the next morning when I changed the oil and took it out behind my house for a couple of "test" pulls before heading out to the local TNT night. When I rolled into the throttle in 2nd gear and the car came into boost (around 5k rpms) there was a fantastic crunch that erupted from the engine bay. I coasted to a stop fearing a windowed block, but there wasn't any fluids pouring out from under the car. I played with the gear shift and quickly determined that something had failed in the trans. Apparently the main pinion gear chipped some teeth and then it all went downhill from there. Here's the pic:


Good news: My installer warranteed his work and I towed the car back to his shop and he replaced the trans last week.

Bad news: I just got towed back from the track tonight after something in the drivetrain took a shit on my first launch. It's like God has it in for this car.
