Hi, I've been looking at engine management options for my 1jz supra. the stock ecu cuts the car out at 122 mph 280 hp and 9 psi, it still accelerates extremely quick but the limits suck, theres a guy in australia that tuned his 1jz in a soarer to 550 hp with just doing intake and exhaust...or so he claims...anyway i'd like to get some opinions on if i should go stand alone or piggy back, and what about the turbo xs dtec? stand alone is rather expensive especially for the drivetrain i have, greddy makes the emanage ultimate which supposedly gives you all the capabilities of a stand alone but for a fraction of the cost (roughly $600 vs $2200+ for a stand alone), they also offer the older emange. then turbo xs offers the dtec, but its only a fuel controller and boost controller, however it monitors and logs everything and they say theyll update it and release new software but that means more stuff to buy. i like the utec turbo xs offers especially for the valet map and security map but i cant find it for my car or a universal one. i pretty much want to get rid of all of my limits and be able to control my boost levels which means i'd have to be able to tune the fuel and spark to match the boost so i dont get knock. i have also heard the crazy idea of running a hondata ecu...anyone know anything about that? i'm not sure if its possible without having to get a ton of wiring diagrams then pray it works right. any help is great, thanks.
