I need someone who knows alot about cams..
Ok, since the motor in the regal has popped a piston (18psi + no intercooler) it still drives fine and has full compression, just a small chunk missing.
So the car is sitting now, I had an extra motor waiting to be build up for when this happens.
So heres the deal.
These are the specs on the heads im getting:
1.89" Hollow intake valves, 1.55" Sodium filled exhaust valves.
Factory-hardened exhaust seats left intact. No need for special fuel additives!
Viton valve seals
1.80" installed spring height
Clearanced for lifts up to .650
4 angle intake valve seats
Full radius exhaust valve seats
135# Comp Dual Springs
Titanium Retainers
Good for .650 lift as shipped.
I'm trying to decide what to do for a cam.
The current one I have sitting here has these specs:
212°/224° at .050"
Intake Lift .325" (.520" lift at 1.6:1 rocker ratio [stock rockers])
Exhaust Lift .335" (.536" lift at 1.6:1 rocker ratio[stock rockers])
116 Lobe Separation
I'm debating to keep this current one, or upgrade to the next "bigger" cam available for this car. (there are like 4 stages, I have a 3, and the next one is a 4)
The bigger one has
.570 lift on intake and .540 lift on exhaust
I want to go with the bigger one because everyone who runs it is pulling great times. But I also don't want to effect the driveability of the car. I know if you go with too big of a cam, it not as good too use as a daily driver.
Anyone have any input?
