Hey all. It's been a while since i've been here! Am i an OG yet?

Anyway, i'm considering shaving my door handles and locks off. I know this falls under the catagory of rice, but there is a legit reason.

I've been doing some body work because my STOCK bodykit was cracked and scratched up pretty badly (my car is a handmedown from my brother who seemed to drive over too many sticks or something). Also, one of my locks is fucked on account of some lowlife trying to break in with a screwdriver. Also, the car used to have a remote control for locking, but it's long since been broken or lost.

So I figure that since i'm doing body work anyway and will have to do some painting in the end anyway, and since my locking system is pretty damaged anyway, i may as well shave the handles off and add door poppers.

I'm not the type to send my car to an auto shop and pay them to do it for me though. I prefer to learn, and the best way to learn is by doing. But i'm not going to jump into something blind.

So can anyone tell me exactly how door poppers work?

Do you have to replace the door latch? Are the door locks removed? Etc Etc. I'd love to hear anything possible anyone has to say about shaved door handles and popping doors. The more detail the better!
