AE86 Coupe Stolen in San Leandro

As posted on another board by my buddy TJ:
Stolen at approximately 3:00am, 7/4/05 in San Leandro, CA next to my house. According to my sister, two guys in hoods jumpstarted the car and drove off.

License Number: 3TMW993, expired tags, 7/2004
VIN: JTSAE88S6H0281736

Description:
1987 White AE86 Coupe: Faded white spray paint, chipping paint, no rear sidemarker, pull fenders, Japan kouki front bumper, Japan Trueno kouki tail lights, 4door Levin sunvisor. BATTLE Swing sticker on rear glass, along with other stickers (NASA, US DRIFT, Touge Friends).

Wheels:
(2) 14x7.5 -6 SSR MKIII silver, (2) 14x7 -9 Konig Rewind Bronze, (2) 14x7 -9 Konig Rewind Gunmetal/Silver in the trunk with bald tires.

Suspension:
Tokico HTS Shocks, 400lb GC front spring, 6kg/mm TRD rear spring, Battle Version 4 link rear and panhard, TRD 15mm longer front control arm, TRD 40mm roll block, Cusco OS front strut bar.

dam, I'm from San Leandro. But I'm in San Diego for school. Did your sister notify the cops asap? After she witnessed the crime?

That just blows, not to put a further downer on the situation but has anyone ever had their car recovered after been stolen? Yes I know it happens but I'm curious to see if with these types of cars (tuner/modified) if they end up chopped up and sold long before anything can be done.
