Did you check the wiring connections to/from the amp and head-unit? As in, remove the head unit and make sure the wires weren't somehow yanked out (I've seen that happen). Also, check all the usual suspects ... fuses and the wiring connections for corrosion. Do you have a voltmeter? If so, check the voltage across the amp. Basically, the whole question is, what is this setup worth to you? At some point, you might have to hand this off to a professional electronics guy, at which point the cost will go up exponentially (if it's a not something like a few resistors, some solder, etc) since it will take alot of time (and cost in parts) to fix something that might just not be worth it.
Just saying... check the wiring connections, fuses, etc.
