No joke - when I first got the car - I bogged and just had to make a big adjustment to the car (little engine take off is much harder than a v8 take off). About 6 months later and a lot of 'normal' driving I finally started learning the car/clutch and engine...and gave a crack at actually launching the car. Launching on a evo is dangerous and can mess the clutch / drivetrain up very badly. I've heard of many guys burning out their clutches w/in 6K miles of owning the cars. I've got 31K on my car and clutch and it's still running strong. I never back to back launch...always letting the car cool before going again.
Now I've gotten the car modded and this past weekend made some additional mods that is allowing me to up the boost. Stock the cars run about 19lbs of boost. I'm going to be moving mine up to 22lbs but it has to be raised in babysteps (if you will) and you need to take care in watching the numbers as you run it at each level. But damn...it's a fun car!!!
