i've owned (at some point in time) just about every 600 class from each manufactor.
here is the list.
Honda Cbr F2
Honda F4i
Honda Cbr 600rr
Yamaha R6 (2003)
Yamaha R1 (2002)
Yamaha Yzf 600r
Suziki Gsxr 600 (2002)
Kawasaki Ninja 250
Kawasaki Zx6r (2005)
I had zero problems with the honda bikes, they are great!! but everyone and their mama has them...just like civics. even the old f2( monster version) i droped it couple times and it was running fine. The 600rr and F4i are almost the same in power wise, but the 600rr feels a lot more aggresive in handling and the seat was killing me on the 600rr.
Yamaha on the other hand very comfy, tons of power (feels faster than the hondas) making it more streetable.
Suziki ..well i dont have very good luck with them, the older year felt like a pig to me, too heavy, tank sits too close to my body, power/throttle is kind of choppy. But I recently rode the 2006 Gsxr and ...all i gota say is WOW...if you havnt rode one yet go try it out, i beleive its the best 600 class right now.
Kawasaki is great because not many people have it (the same reason why i choose green also) #1 reason being i use it to commute sometimes and weekend rides. the extra 36 cc gives me the low end to midrange torque i needed for commuting, and yet i can still rev to 12k+ for the weekend twisty without worrying about the bike kicking out. (R1)...but yea.. i would look into the gsxr 750 or the 636.. =]..
i had zero problem with my bike. its realy easy to do the oil change also..which sold my right away lol...no removal of the failing to change oil hehe =]
