Dr. Disque is correct, there was no 2.4 J-Bodies until later. I believe the 1995 was the 2.3HO, and 1996 was the start of the 2.4.

The only engines offered in the 1992 Cavalier were the 110hp 2.2L and the 140hp 3.1L which was featured only in the Z24. And the only other engine offered in the 2nd Generation J-Body platform was the 2.0 Turbo engine, which was not offered in the Cavalier, only the Sunbird, and only for 2 years.
