Not as quickly as an unforseen lane change from a car will take out your whole bike...

Seriously, every time I see some jackass riding the rear tire on the freeway, I can feel the clock ticking down to the day when motorcycles are completely illegal. Might seem impossible, but it's already almost happened before - back when I rode, there was a lot of proposed "superbike ban" legislation being proposed, and insurance rates for anything bigger than a 400 were climbing out of sight. The industry fought back from the brink with better voluntary rider training through organizations like the MSF and AMA, but we still got mandatory helmet laws and stricter licensing in a lot of places.

But that battle we almost lost is totally forgotten now, so riders might as well stunt in traffic, bolt on the loudest pipe they can find, and have all the fun they can in the limited amount of time left before the huge majority of non-riders decide they've had enough and get rid of motorcycles from public roads once and for all.
