I throw it in neutral and coast all the time up to lights (I brake lightly to slow down and not steady, just lights taps). I only shift down for the approach when I think I'll be able to not have to stop; don't like to shift when I don't have to (clutch wear > brake wear for me since I am hard on clutches).
