Question for Sgt. Grant

Hi, name's Matthew. I'm 19 and have been driving in the Southern Orange County area for 3 years now. I've never been pulled over much less received a ticket. I used to to drive a 96 Jeep Grand Cherokee, which is a pretty common socer momish car around here. Cops never gave me any trouble while in it. I drive in a responsable manner(obey all laws, avoid accidents, use my blinkers every time, etc etc.) It's pretty usual for people to drive over the limits on the roads here. Since I've started driving I always go about 5-10 over the limit, which is just about what anyone else is doing. My jeep was rearended a few months ago, and I purchased a 1999 bmw manual 323i. It was debadged, lowered, illegally tinted(tints on driver and passenger front windows), low profile tires, and clear corners. This is a significantly higher profile car than I used to drive.

Since the windows are tinted, and I don't mind the cold, I opt to keep all of my windows down while driving. Does this put cops more at ease, being able to see in the car and the fact that the driver isn't trying to obscure anyone from seeing inside of it? I was also wondering if you feel it would still be just as safe to drive the same reasonable figure over the speed limit in this car versus my jeep? I've yet to be pulled over in this car, but have been followed home on a few occasions.

Also, in your opinion, if an officer where to pull me over for going 5-10 over and he walked up with all my windows down, keys on the dash along with liscence, reg., insurance, and my hands on the wheel, stereo off. Along with no prior record or warnings and a polite demenor, would he be likly to issue the ticket?

I've just sort of felt unsure of how I should be safely driving this car and would appreciate and officer's opinion. Thanks for your time.
