Probably just a fine. If it was a serious enough crime to warrant jail, I would think the officer would have arrested you on the spot.
It's nothing. I got a similar ticket for "Failure to comply with a police officer" I didn't have backup lights on my truck, cop saw this gave me a fixit. I asked him "How long do I have to fix them?" he said 15 days. So I'm cruisin around the next night, same cop pulls me over. "You fixed your lights?" "No, you told me I had 15 days" "But you can't drive until they're fixed".
I went to court, was found guilty (misdemeanor), but got the judge to drop all fines.
