IF you have a carb number and papers for the intake its legal..and if you still get a ticket..file a complaint to the city and fight the ticket in court...I did that in fremont for a ticket I got for my AEM intake...I got the ticket writen off and the judge lectured the cop about giving someone a ticket for something that is legal can be punished within the force of the department...but of course I saw the same cop like on sat. night at dixon...but it was still funny to see the judge do that....she was hella nice to me too...that was a first probably luck...
The exhaust thing....it's only legal to have an after market exhaust if the sound is not louder then stock... I got a ticket awhile back for exhaust but with my luck they were carrying a db reader in the car...grabbed it out and i was at 110db idle...I was screwed right off the bat...but with the same exhaust I put the baffle on and only got a 90db at 4000rpm's so if you do have a loud exhaust it wouldn't hurt to get a baffle...yeah it might sound cheap but will save you from getting a ticket...at least it did for me since the baffle was in my trunk...
