This phase of the the project Prelude is to install a Greddy SP exhaust system.  The base car is a 1999 Honda Prelude Vtec owned by Bernadette.

This is the car with the factory exhaust system.  As you can see it is pretty plain looking.
When installing the exhaust system the first step is to jack up the car.  Make sure that you use jack stands while using a jack.  If the jack fails your stands will help save you.
You can notice to rubber pieces connected to the frame that hold up the rear of the exhaust pipe.
Next up, remove the bolts from the frame.  Their are usually just two bolts that hold the stock exhaust in place.
Now remove the two bolts from the piping that hold the exhaust to the catalytic system.
You'd never know that exhaust is pretty fat like that

Here you can see the stock catalytic converter, also known as "The Cat".  The Cat helps reduce noise but most of all is used for smog purposes.  In california if you get caught without a cat it's a huge fine.
Now Tom is finding the bolts that hold the cat in place.
Alrighty, here is the box that houses new system.
The New Greddy Cat.  It looks pretty beefy compared to the stock cat.
The piping comes in two peices so it must be put together.  As seen here they are putting in the gaskets before putting it on the car.
The new exhuast is pretty big as well.
Nice and shiny.  Definately make sure that any exhuast system you buy is stainless steel so it won't rust.
The installation is just the reversal of taking it off.  This is definately easier with two people.
Here it is on the car. Looks really nice.
Here is just a quick close up.
